Radial calculator

A new editing function that makes it possible to quickly and easily arrange elements radially around a point and then customize them.

Project objective

Our goal was to develop an editing function that solves a problem when working with design programs through simple and understandable interaction.

FIRST IDEAS

For the first ideas, we always used pen and paper to create variants as quickly and easily as possible. We saw great potential in the edit area. Here we initially worked with the Pathfinder tool in Illustrator, which later became the basis for our ideas for the final function.

PROBLEM FINDING

CLASSICAL CONDITIONING

WITH DUFTE

During the process, a number of problems emerged to which we were able to assign initial solutions.

VARIANT CREATION

The largest part of our project consisted of creating variants in order to generate the greatest possible variance of functions, not only in terms of content but also functionally.

DEFINE EXACT USE CASE

The creation of variants resulted in new functions with initial solution approaches, such as a tangential connection between two elements. In order not to lose our focus, we defined three main functions, which we continued to expand as we progressed.
